About Oona

Yen Goh serves as Oona Insurance Philippines' Director and a Principal at Warburg Pincus. Yen Goh joined Warburg Pincus in 2016 and was initially based in New York focusing on Industrial and Business Services investments in North America but is now based in Singapore focusing on investments in Southeast Asia across multiple verticals. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, Yen worked as a Management Consultant at L.E.K. Consulting, based in Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honors (University Medal) from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Business Administration (Palmer Scholar) from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Angela oversees our financial direction and strategy management across the Group. She started her insurance career in Malaysia where she was deeply involved in the rel-listing of an insurance entity and a merger. Her career in insurance has taken her to various jurisdictions including Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, and Singapore where she has held both the local and regional CFO roles. She holds an LLB and BComm from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and is a member of the Malaysian Bar and a CFA charterholder.

Pedro Roxas is an Independent Director at Oona Insurance Philippines and is the current Chairman of the Board of Roxas Holdings Inc and its operating subsidiaries, namely: Central Azucarera Don Pedro, Inc. (CADPI), San Carlos Bioenergy, Inc. (SCBI) and RHI Agri-Business Development Corporation (RHI-ADC.) He is likewise the Executive Chairman of Roxas & Co., Inc. He is also the Chairman of Fundación Santiago and Club Punta Fuego. Mr. Roxas has extensive experience serving as an independent director for companies such the Manila Electric Co. (MERALCO), Metro Pacific International Inc. (MPIC), Oona Insular Insurance Corporation, CEMEX Holdings Philippines Inc., and Brightnote Assets Corporation. He is also a Trustee of Roxas Foundation, Inc. (RFI). He graduated with a BS Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA in 1977.

Valentino Bagatsing serves as an Independent Director at Oona Insurance Philippines and is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Investment and Capital Corporation of the Philippines (ICCP). He has extensive experience in investments, corporate finance, and PPPs amongst others, and has held various senior positions across South Asia, ASEAN, and North America, for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group. Mr. Bagatsing holds a Master of Business Administration from McLaren School of Business, University of San Francisco, including further education programs from Harvard Kennedy School, Columbia University and Asian Institute of Management.

Martin Cu is a partner at multi-stage venture capital firm 500 Global for its Southeast Asia growth initiatives, and spearheads the exploration of early-stage investments in the Philippines.

Prior to 500 Global, Martin was the Philippines Country Head of Ninja Van, one of Southeast Asia’s largest tech-enabled, last-mile logistics companies.

Martin led marketing teams at Zalora Philippines as Marketing Director and Head of Marketing Planning & Communications.

Normie joined Oona Insurance Philippines in January 2023 and is the current Chief Information Technology Officer. She oversees the overall IT operations including cybersecurity, Infrastructure, application development and digital transformation. In over 25 years, she has built an extensive career in IT, working with Multinational Fortune 500 Companies and other industries including Technology, BPO, Softwares, etc. Prior to Oona Insurance, she worked as a Senior Vice President in QBE Insurance and in Genting Hong Kong where she served as Vice President. Normie has graduated as a full scholar with a degree in Computer engineering from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

Ashish Arora, Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Partnerships at Oona Insurance Philippines, brings 18 years of marketing and eCommerce expertise. With a versatile background spanning Media & Entertainment, Telecom, and General Insurance, he excels in sales, product development, and digital demand generation. Ashish has been a key player in innovating digital value chains for general insurance. In his recent role, he demonstrated proficiency in P&L management and initiated strategic alliances with leading eCommerce and payment platforms. Ashish's strategic vision and diverse skills position him as a crucial driver for Oona's growth and success in the competitive insurance landscape.

Nadine joined Oona Insurance Philippines in June 2024 and is the current Chief People Officer. She oversees the overall People Strategy including Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, and Total Rewards. Passionate about people growth and development, Nadine’s career in Human Resources spans over two decades. Nadine initially specialized in Total Rewards while working with Mercer having been responsible for partnering with Banking, FMCG, Energy and the Semiconductor industry sectors. She progressed in her career with large multinational organizations such as Philip Morris, Novartis, and Eli Lilly. Prior to joining Oona, she was with Zuellig Pharma where she was HR Director for ZP Therapeutics before taking on a regional role as Corporate HRBP based in Singapore. She graduated with a degree of A.B. Literature from Ateneo de Davao University and Master in Business Administration from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business.

Atty. Hope Candido joined Oona Insurance in November 2024. She has been in the insurance industry since 2012, guiding leading companies such as Sun Life of Canada, BDO Insure, and Pru Life UK. She also served as counsel for BDO Unibank, Inc. and as an associate lawyer at Puyat, Jacinto & Santos Law Offices. Atty. Hope passed the Philippine Bar in 2010. She holds a Juris Doctor degree (Second Honors, Silver Medal) from Ateneo de Manila University and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (magna cum laude) from the University of Santo Tomas. She also completed the One-Year Course on Trust Operations and Investment Management from the Trust Institute Foundation of the Philippines and is an Associate of the Life Management Institute of the Life Office Management Association.
